In Greek religion and mythology, Athena is the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law, justice, just warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, arts, crafts, and skill. She is the virgin patroness of Athens, and the Athenians founded the Parthenon on the Acropolis of her namesake city, Athens, in her honor. Her sacred symbols include olive trees, owls, and snakes. This bronze-finished statue depicts the goddess in a battle helmet and chest piece, spear, and shield in hand, standing under an olive tree. She has an owl on her shoulder and her shield features the face of Medusa. Made of cold-cast resin, it measures 9.5 inches tall, 5.25 inches long, and 4.5 inches wide.
